Conclusion

Of the 17 households that completed Part II of the form, 3 were found not to fit the criteria of being in genuine housing need in Hawkshead for the following reasons:

1 household owned their home outright and were judged to have sufficient capital to move and meet their own needs on the open market.

1 household owned their home with a mortgage and is looking to downsize.  They also have been judged to have sufficient capital to do so and meet their own needs on the open market.

1 household live in housing association accommodation.  They state that they want to be closer to his employment which is outside the parish.

Recommendations

Therefore, 14 households were found to be in genuine housing need to live in the parish.
